Doulas provide physical, education and emotional support? But what does that all mean?
We’re so glad you asked!
Physically – Your doula is physically present during labor. She will utilize her knowledge of physical comfort measures to help ease the discomfort of labor. She will encourage and assist you with positional changes, massage, breathing techniques and more. She will prevent you and your partner from feeling alone and unknowing.
Educationally – Think of your doula as your own personal “birth google” with access to instant information. She is studied and certified in all areas of supporting birth.
Emotionally – Your doula understands the full spectrum of emotions that labor and birth can trigger. She is prepared to help you process those emotions and allow you the space to comfortably experience them as you and your partner transition into parenthood.
