Providing Professional Doula Services to Families in Greenwich, Westchester and NYC

Diaper Drive

It's that time of year again!

The birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming and the Hudson Valley is in need of some clean diapers.

As we get ready to kick off the Northeast Doula's annual No Child Wet Behind fundraiser, we have compiled a list of the amazing businesses in our area that are participating by hosting No Child Wet Behind's diaper collection bins at their locations. This year's diaper drive benefits the Westchester Diaper Bank, providing tons of families in the greater Hudson Valley with the resources they need to keep their babies clean, happy and healthy.

We're excited to announce new businesses and community locations that have hopped on board in our area this spring to benefit this great cause that continues to make a tremendous difference in our communities.

If you have diapers ready and waiting you can bring them to our No Child Wet Behind Fundraiser at Croton Point Park on May 21st or bring them to one of these friendly locations over the next few months. Take a look at some of the locations to see which bin is closest to you.

Last Wednesday Northeast Doulas headed to Dutchess Stadium to raise awareness and collect donations for No Child Wet Behind at The Renegades baseball game! The Renegades' 'Collection for a Cause' program allows non-profits the chance to meet local families and spread the word about their cause.

Northeast Doulas was proud to partner with The Renegades to offer families $1 admission tickets for every pack of diapers they donated to the No Child Wet Behind non-profit organization. Collections from this event went directly to the Westchester Diaper Bank and into the hands of families desperately in need of diapers for their children.

Co-owner of Northeast Doulas, Debbie Aglietti even threw the first pitch! She’s the 2017 draft pick with her Renegades hat on.

Northeast Doulas' 4th Annual No Child Wet Behind 5K and 1 mile fun walk is next month. We are once again hosting the event at FDR park (Lot 4) in Yorktown, New York.

You will begin to notice pink and blue No Child Wet Behind diaper donation boxes popping up throughout Greenwich, Westchester, NYC and the Hudson Valley.

We had some help painting the donation boxes from some amazing students from Lakeland High School who helped a great cause and gained the community service hours they needed to graduate.

Northeast Doulas is excited to announce that the event registration for our annual No Child Wet Behind 5K is now open!

In case you are unfamiliar with this fundraiser, No Child Wet Behind began as a small local event started by Northeast Doulas three years ago. When we realized how many families just in our surrounding area alone struggled with providing diapers for their small children, we knew we had to do something to change this.

No Child Wet Behind brings support to families in diaper need that otherwise goes unfunded by any government backed programs.

We set a goal to collect diapers to help our local diaper bank, now we have evolved into a nationwide foundation that assists hundreds of families and facilities all over the country.

It is so important to spread the word to further our reach so we need your support too! Here is how you can get involved.......Read more

There are a lot of things that we take for granted every day.

Financial Stability.

Food.

Water.

Shelter.

Life.

Family.

Diapering our babies.

There are many families who start and end each day stressed out about how they are going to provide clean diapers for their children.

This stress can induce severe negativity and depression amplifying the already desperate situation. The reprecussions financially, emotionally and physically increase the potential health risks for children and leave parents feeling helpless and hopeless.

Of all the things to be stressed about, Northeast Doulas believes struggling to afford diapers should not be one of them.

1 in 3 American families reports experiencing diaper need

No Child Wet Behind is a not for profit organization set up by Northeast Doulas owners, Debbie Aglietti and Randy Patterson specifically to tackle this issue. "Our goal is to raise awareness, educate and provide diapers to families across the nation."

This spring on May 21, 2016 the No Child Wet Behind National Diaper Drive and...Read more

Did you know…

Diaper Need by the Numbers

•   1 in 3 American moms struggle with diaper need

•   A normal infant uses up to 12 diapers a day

•   A healthy change of diapers costs $100/month

Impact on Babies

1.Increased disease risk—diaper rash, staph infections, hepatitis. Because families don’t have enough diapers, a baby’s diaper might only be changed once a day, or rinsed and reused.

2.Increased child abuse, like shaken baby syndrome, because babies cry more when wearing dirty diapers.

Impact on Families

1.Emotional stress—Imagine if you can’t soothe your crying baby because you don’t have a clean diaper to use.

2.Financial stress—Families cut back on...Read more
